Why Do I Snore ?

Snoring :

Snoring can be very annoying when it disrupts the sleep of the entire household. It is often associated with obstructive sleep apnea. This is the most common form of sleep disorder. Snoring occurs when air can’t flow freely through the passage in the throat. The periods of absent breathing can occur as little as 10 seconds or as long as a minute or more. This may lead to less oxygen to the brain. If left untreated, may cause high blood pressure, respiratory failure and heart problems. Approx. 10 to 30 % of adults snore; for most, snoring has no serious medical consequences. However, 5 to 10 % of loud snoring middle age men may have serious obstructive apnea.
